Members are responsible for all materials charged out on their membership. If an item is lost, returned damaged, or overdue, the member must pay the fines/fees before any other items may be checked out.

Membership cards or picture ID must be presented to check out material.

BORROWING PRIVILEGES

20 items  -  including 5 DVDs, and 5 video games

Print materials and audiobooks can be borrowed for 3 weeks.  Audio visual materials can be borrowed for 1 week.

You can reserve any material that is normally allowed to leave the library.

You can renew any material you have out once, in person or by phone, as long as the item isn't overdue and no one else has placed a reserve on the item.

At times libraries outside of Alberta charge fees for sending interlibrary loans (ILL's).  This cost must be paid by the patron when the item is picked up at Vegreville Centennial Library.

OVERDUE FEES (PER DAY RATES)

  • Books $0.25
  • Talking Books $0.25
  • DVD's $1.00
  • Video Games $1.00
  • CD's $0.25
  • Magazines $0.25

Each member is responsible for all materials charged out on his/her membership card. A “date due” slip is given out at the time of library loans. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that items are returned on time and in good order.

Out of courtesy, Vegreville Centennial Library staff attempt to telephone patrons if items are overdue, however, this is not always possible. Overdue charges apply whether a patron receives a courtesy call or not.

Patrons who have more than $10.00 in outstanding fines/fees will have their membership privileges suspended until the fines/fees are paid.
